How we pour concrete that lasts

Built right under the surface.

A properly built driveway here lasts decades. What shortens it is what you can’t see: skipped base prep, rebar left on the ground, the wrong mix and poor drainage. We don’t skip steps.

01

Base done right

The old slab comes out and we grade and compact a limerock or crushed-concrete base. Skipped base prep is the #1 reason concrete fails early.

02

Real reinforcement

#3 or #4 rebar set on chairs, or fiber mesh in the mix. Rebar dumped on the dirt isn’t reinforcement.

03

A mix made for Florida

A 4,000+ PSI mix for South Florida heat, with control joints planned before the pour.

04

Cured + inspected

Curing compound after finishing, and a permitted job isn’t done until it passes the final inspection that closes the permit.

About our plain concrete

Plain concrete driveways, walkways and slabs.

A plain concrete slab is still the most durable driveway in South Florida. Choose a broom finish for grip in the rain, the standard for driveways and walkways, or a smooth hand-troweled finish for patios and covered areas. Then pick a joint pattern: a stress joint every 10 feet, or a grid.

We build plain concrete driveways, walkways, patios and slabs across Miami-Dade and Broward in 2–3 DAYS once the permit is approved, with rebar on chairs, a 4,000+ PSI mix and control joints planned before the pour.

FAQ

Plain Concrete: common questions.

Broom finish or smooth finish?
A broom finish has a light brushed texture for grip in the rain. It’s the South Florida standard for driveways and walkways. A smooth, hand-troweled finish is sleek and modern, and it’s a clean look for patios and covered areas.
What joint pattern should I choose?
The standard is a stress joint every 10 feet, the way concrete is meant to be cut. A grid (checkerboard) pattern adds cuts in both directions for a clean, tiled look across the slab. We’re also open to a joint layout you show us.
How much does a plain concrete driveway cost?
Every job is quote-based and depends on size, demo of the old slab, drainage, base prep and site conditions. An average full driveway replacement that starts with demolishing the old slab runs about $15,000. The city or county permit fee is paid separately.
How long does it take?
The permit takes 1–2 WEEKS in unincorporated Miami-Dade and 1–2 MONTHS in other cities. The build takes 2–3 DAYS: demo and forms, the city inspection, then pour and finish. You can walk on it after 24–48 HOURS and drive on it after 5–7 DAYS.
Will a plain slab crack?
Concrete can develop hairline cracks as it cures and moves with the heat. The stress joints are there so any cracking follows the joint lines. We also set rebar on chairs and use a 4,000+ PSI mix made for South Florida.
Can I combine plain concrete with turf or stamped borders?
Yes. Some of our most popular driveways pair a plain slab drive with a turf-inlay walkway. See all four ways we build driveways.
Do you handle the permit?
Yes, permits are included. We file it, track the review and meet the inspectors. A permitted job isn’t done until it passes the final inspection that closes the permit.
