Concrete Driveway Installation and Remodeling in Miami-Dade & Broward County

Your driveway does more work than almost any surface on your property. It carries the weight of vehicles every day, bakes under the South Florida sun, floods in the rainy season, and is the first thing guests and buyers notice. When it starts cracking, sinking, or just looking dated, a new or remodeled concrete driveway is one of the best investments you can make. As a family-owned contractor serving Miami-Dade and Broward County since 2004, we install and remodel driveways built for our specific climate. Here is what goes into the job and how to decide between repair and replacement.
New installation vs. remodeling
If you have a bare or gravel area, or you are extending an existing driveway, that is a new driveway installation, we build the whole thing from base to finish. Remodeling covers replacing a failed slab or upgrading a plain one to a decorative finish. The right call depends on the condition of the existing concrete:
- Surface-level cracks or staining can sometimes be resurfaced or overlaid for a fresh look without a full tear-out.
- Deep cracking, sinking sections, or a failed base mean replacement is the smarter long-term choice, patching over a bad base just fails again.
- Wanting a new look, like going from gray to stamped or colored concrete, is a remodel we do often.
On a free on-site estimate we tell you honestly which one your driveway needs, we don't sell a full replacement when a remodel will do.
How we build a driveway that lasts
A driveway is only as strong as what is underneath it. Our process is built around the fact that South Florida ground is sandy and flat, and our weather is hard on concrete:
- Excavation and grading: we dig out to the right depth and set the slope so water drains off the driveway toward the swale, not toward your house or garage.
- Compacted base: a limerock or crushed-stone sub-base is laid and compacted to give the slab a stable foundation that won't settle.
- Reinforcement: rebar or fiber mesh controls cracking as the slab expands and contracts in the heat.
- Proper mix: we pour a 3,000 to 4,000 PSI concrete mix rated for vehicle loads and our humidity and salt exposure.
- Control joints: cut at correct spacing so the concrete cracks along planned lines instead of randomly across the surface.
- Curing and sealing: the slab is cured properly and sealed, especially on decorative finishes, to protect against UV, oil, and salt.
Finish options
A remodel is your chance to upgrade the look. Popular finishes include a clean broom finish for a modern budget-friendly slab, stamped concrete that mimics pavers or stone, exposed aggregate for texture and grip, and integral colors in tans and grays that reflect heat and hide our hard-water residue. Adding a contrasting border is an easy way to make a standard driveway look custom, and we can tie it into a matching walkway or patio for a cohesive front yard.
Permits are part of the job
Both Miami-Dade and Broward County require permits for driveway installation and replacement, and many cities like Homestead, Doral, and Fort Lauderdale have their own setback, drainage, and impervious-surface rules. We pull permits in-house and handle the inspections, so your driveway is code-compliant and won't create problems when you sell. Skipping permits to save a few dollars is a common way homeowners end up with fines or trouble at closing.
Timeline and financing
A typical driveway takes a few days of active work, demolition, base prep, pour, then a cure period before you drive on it, usually about a week total before full use. Decorative finishes add a little time. Cost depends on square footage, finish, demolition, and any drainage work. Because a driveway is a big-ticket upgrade, we offer 0% APR financing for up to 24 months through Wisetack and Wells Fargo, so you can spread the cost interest-free.
